According to the 2025 Asia University Rankings released by the International Higher Education Information Service (QS), Hong Kong Shue Yan University ranked 342, up from 351st to 400th last year. The management of the University was very encouraged and thanked all stakeholders for their efforts.

SYU have nearly 1,500 new students this year, of which 80% are local students and the rest are international and Mainland students. This year's new students have achieved satisfactory entrance results, with the median admission score of the HKDSE remaining at 17.

The Education Concentration of HKSYU held a seminar on April 12 to introduce the latest “Development of Language, Humanities and Social Studies Curriculum in Secondary Schools and Interview Preparation”.

The Associated of Faculty of Commerce (AFC) of HKSYU has been invited to represent the Institute of Accountants Exchange (IAE) to participate in the “Guangdong Huizhou-Hong Kong Accountancy Invitation Tournament” from 25 to 26 November 2023, in which they were awarded the First Runner-up of the whole tournament.

In a heartening display of community engagement and creative collaboration, students from Hong Kong Shue Yan University Department of Counselling and Psychology stepped up to support the “I See, I Feel, I Hear – Lighten Our Darkness” exhibition, organized by St John’s Cathedral’s Life Enrichment Centre. Held over three days from February 23 to 25 at the bustling Central Market, this exhibition shone a spotlight on inclusivity through smartphone imagery.

Twenty-five teams from the Peninsula Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCI) organised the "Make It Happen – Triumph in Marketing" marketing competition, with a total of 25 teams vying for the top five spots in the finals and the finals at Shue Yan University.

The 2024 China Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau Enterprise Business Case Analysis Competition, jointly organized by the Commercial Chamber in China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the International Association for Business Management Simulation, was held on 23 March 2024 at the University of Hong Kong.

On 2 March, Link held the Link University Scholarship Presentation Ceremony at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hong Kong, presenting scholarships to 220 local university students, including Tsui Wai-kit, a student from the Department of Sociology at HKSYU.

Wong Kin-hei, a Year 3 student from the Department of Social Work at the HKSYU, was one of the awardees of the "For Our Future Scholarship", which was offered by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation.

The social science research team of HKSYU has released research results on young people's self-identity and "positive" and "lying down" mentalities, and found that the establishment of an appropriate "self-identity" plays an important role in motivating young people to lead an active life and help nurture the younger generation to contribute to society.

HKSYU sent five members of the Taekwondo team to participate in the "2023-2024 USFHK Taekwondo Competition". Lo Lok-yin and Lee Hei-man were even promoted to the top three among them.

The 2023/24 USFHK Annual Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on 14 April at the Jockey Club Auditorium of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Cheung Siu-keung, Executive Vice President of HKSYU, attended the event as the guest of honour and participated in the flag handover ceremony.

The 34th Hong Kong Shue Yan University Athletic Games was held on 6 March at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground with the active participation of students, teachers and alumni from various departments.

The Consulate General of Indonesia in Hong Kong met with the representatives  of SYU, and had an in-depth conversation on the cultural exchanges and further studies between students.

Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) launched the International Foundation Year Programme (IFYP), the first pre-university certificate in Hong Kong, in 2024. The program aims to provide overseas secondary school students with opportunities for further studies.

The Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation organised an online seminar about “Xi Xi and Translation” on 11 March 2023 under the “Xi Xi ∙ Spring Vista”, part of the International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong series.  Dr. Wong Ka Ki, the Associate Professor of Department of Chinese Language and Literature in HKSYU, was one of the guests in this seminar, celebrated Xi Xi’s literary works with the other guests.

A seminar about how local chronicles in China is organised by Department of History, Loke Kok Kuen Chinese Cultural Legacy Research Trust and Centre for Research and Teaching in Chinese History in providing new vision of research study in history of Hong Kong.

HKSYU participated in The HKTDC Education and Career Expo 2023 with the theme of “Digital Humanities”, which the booth was merged with metaverse teaching and learning, and attracted more than 2,500 visitors.
