HKSYU welcomes applications for undergraduate admissions third-year entry from eligible students. Students with the following qualifications can apply:

Final year students and graduates of locally accredited Associate Degree or Higher Diploma programmes from institutions in Hong Kong, in discipline(s) highly related to History, Chinese, Journalism & Communication, Media Design and Technology, Accounting, Business Administration, Corporate Governance and Risk Management, Digital Marketing, Human Resources Management, Economics and Finance, Financial Technology, Law, Psychology or Sociology. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (out of a 4.0 scale) or above in completion of their sub-degree studies.

 

Students who are admitted directly to Year 3 under this scheme and have achieved a total GPA of 3.3 or above (out of a 4-point system) in their sub-degree studies will be awarded an entrance scholarship.

Other Qualifications Other equivalent academic qualifications e.g. overseas academic qualifications or professional qualifications, please submit application to the Admissions Office for individual assessment.
 

For this type of applicants, articulation to Year 3 of HKSYU Bachelor’s degree programmes will only be considered on an exceptional basis in the case of students who have successfully completed the first two years of an accredited bachelor’s degree programme in a cognate discipline area at a UGC-funded University or degree-granting institution accredited by the HKCAAVQ in Hong Kong or a recognized institution of higher learning overseas;

 

In order to be considered for admission to Year 3 of an HKSYU programme, applicants for advanced standing must normally have achieved a GPA of at least 2.5 or equivalent in their previous degree-level studies.

 

Students admitted directly to Year 3 must complete at least 50% of the total number of credits required for the award of the degree at SYU. The admitting Department will devise a study plan for each successful applicant that takes into account the courses they have successfully completed in their previous studies, the University’s general requirements and the specific degree requirements. Students whose study load would exceed 76 credits would be advised to enter Year 2 of the SYU degree programme they had applied for.

 

Please note: each application is considered on its own merits. Applicants will normally have to meet defined levels of achievement in their English language and prior academic studies and will be expected to provide satisfactory academic and work experience references. Applicants are highly recommended to approach the department of the intended studied programme prior to the application.


The application period for this type of applicants is July to August every year. Please submit the application in person.
