The Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) accepts application from students taken the General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination. Please note the following admission details:
Applicants should obtain at least 2 A Level subjects at Grade E or above (excluding Chinese). For
Bachelor of Science with Honours in Applied Data Science, applicants of this programme should have at least 3 A Level subject sat Grade E or above (excluding Chinese) .

For English requirement:
Applicants should be able to demonstrate his/her English proficiency. Applicants can present documentary evidence which may include:
A minimum of Level 3 in DSE English; or
A minimum of 5.5 IELTS; or
A minimum of 79 (internet-based) in TOEFL; or
Grade E or above in English/ English Language/ English Literature; or
Equivalent of the above*
Applicants without the University's recognized English language qualification maybe required to sit for the English written exam.

Important Note: Due to administration reason, non-local applicants who sit for the 2026 June Examination Session will not be processed. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Applicants must submit their application online and upload the following supporting documents to the Admissions system:
1. A recent photo of applicant; and
2. Valid identification documents (such as Mainland ID card, passport or Hong Kong ID card original and copy); and
3. Non-refundable and non-transferrable application fee: Local applicants: HKD250
Non-local applicants: HKD650 ; and
4. Submission of proof of academic qualification including GCE results (in both original* and copy, if applicable); and
High school grade reports in both original and copy.
Important note: *Applicants are required to have their examination institution send the scores directly to the University.

Full-time local undergraduate students under the age of 30 are eligible to apply for Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP), a scheme offered by the government to provide means-tested financial assistance which can include grants (tuition fee and learning expenses) and/or low-interest loans to help meet living expenses. Students can apply for FASP after registration.
