HKSYU Achieves Positive Results in 2026 Undergraduate Admissions
Following the release of the HKDSE results, Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) commenced its first-round open admissions. By the afternoon of the HKDSE results day on July 15, local applications (including HKDSE, Associate Degree, and Higher Diploma) jumped nearly 32% year-on-year, with Journalism and Communication, Business Administration, and Social Work being among the popular programmes.
The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) programme hosted on-site applications and interviews, attracting crowds of students and parents. HKSYU also offered on-site written tests to admit local current HKDSE applicants who didn't attain the minimum language requirements based on merit.
Dr Chow Tak-seng, Vice President (University Administration), stated that the significant surge in applications reflects recognition of HKSYU's QS World University Ranking and its society-aligned curriculum. The University remains committed to its liberal arts education, while achieving progress in digital humanities and internationalization.
